Description: Australian Technology Park (ATP) is set to become one of Australia’s leading smart neighbourhoods. The vibrant and renewed precinct is set to become a popular destination, not just for workers but for the wider community. From al fresco diners and pop up events to other proposed amenities, which could include a gym and supermarket, the streets and laneways will buzz with activity, attracting visitors from across town and catering to the needs of today’s modern, flexible workforce.
Surrounded by some of Sydney’s most established and thriving neighbourhoods, including Erskineville Village, Redfern, Alexandria and Eveleigh, ATP is an easy stroll to a diverse array of shops, cafes, bars, restaurants – everything we love about these popular suburbs.
Wilken were contracted by Mirvac on several different projects across this large scale development site as both electrical contractors and Level 1 ASP’s Including:
- Supply and installation of a 3 x 1500kVA surface chamber substation including bringing diverse feeders to site from the existing Ausgrid network and the construction of large scale concrete pits for ease of running HV and LV cables around the precinct not only for this project but for future projects as well
- Public domain Low voltage, communications reticulation and Light pole installation across the site including street scape, sporting fields and recreation areas
- Supply and installation of a 1 x 1000kVA transformer mini chamber substation
- Installation of a 400A temporary builder’s supply to provide Mirvac additional temporary power to one of several buildings being constructed on site. The cables for this project were reticulated through previously installed conduits and connected to an existing kiosk substation both installed by Wilken on a previous project on site.
Wilken conducted detailed surveys on the existing pit and duct system on site to aid Mirvac and their level 3 designers design the HV and LV infrastructure across the ATP site.
